I've now been up for three hours. What have I accomplished?
Today is Uncle C's day, so I THOUGHT OF HIM. I'd recently complied and labeled cards in an old shoe box, so I dug out and addressed a birthday card with a woman on the front, threatening to jump out of a cake as a surprise... Open it, and she has reneged -- doesn't want to get her hair full of icing. I took a black marker, inserted Aunt C's name and wrote a cute note...
And eventually, on a very merry un-birthday-day, he will know it. So, he will get to enjoy it twice. He's going out for lunch with his wife and my mom, her present to him.
Next, I tried to straighten out my check book. I know I need to work with numbers early in the day, so I thought I'd tackle that one while I was still fresh. I had three bank statements at hand, got started, wrote out one check and added it to the pile to go down to the mail box along with my uncle's birthday card -- found an IBM account's check recorded in the US Bank's register, and a blank listing the amount only in the other one, filled in that missing data I thought I'd have to find by digging through all the old piles of used checks, and that was where that project still is at -- The rest of the recording that needs to be done takes the FOURTH bank statement, which is not yet at hand... So, that pile is still "collecting".
I managed to bury the "must do when business hours roll around today" pile as I reorganized. I can only remember ONE thing that is on it, about one of the IBM credit union's loans coming due, one that is CD secured. There are 10 of them, so I really need that sheet in hand when I try to talk to whichever poor clerk draws that duty.
I found out last night I'm using the WRONG FORMATTING for the script frenzy script that now boasts nearly 8,000 words of the 20,000. I started trying to switch it over on line in my journal, but formatting in HTML seems incompatible, at least by any method I know presently.
I think I need to just keep going and get the words/ideas down and get that pile out of my hair. I've been writing on this thing for quite a while and really want it on line somewhere, format trouble or no. I like the idea a lot. Summer is the only time I can really focus on writing without feeling guilty about it.
Hunting for page 1/2 of Propinquity and the Mesmerizer's next scene, I found the bank loan paper. Doing it RIGHT NOW.
