Last of a Bloodline

Hi, Sandy,

Sorry that Dave and I are such miserable corespondents. We rarely use our email. We do check into your web site on occasion to see how things are with you.

I just wanted to tell you the we had to put Love (Pandemonium Deelovly [PtHA Champion Jay Dee x Hamorita]) down yesterday. She was 28 and doing well with a lot of pampering. In the last couple months, she had frequent times when she would lay down and not be able to get up, so we would have to call the vet for Banamine IV.

This weekend, no matter how much bute and banamine we gave, she could not get up, and we thought she looked in pain. So we made the decision to put her out of pain.

This summer a 4H kid (we are leaders!) showed Love and won a blue and 2 reds in showmanship, & walk/trot classes. She was our best riding horse.

Love's last foal, Clark, won blue and red in the 4H open show in English pleasure and equitation (his only classes). Clark was ridden by our previous 4H kid.

She was a great horse, Sandy. All the others are old, but ok.

Hope that everything is ok with you and wanted you to know this sad news.

Linda & Dave

Yes, it is always sad, but she had a good life, and brought joy to many, many folks along the way. She always was and will continue to be one of my favorites.

She was on my mind today. When Jess was here, I was talking to him about a mare someone in Florida had and just loved, Casi Pandemonium, (ROL Raven x Pandemonium Cariñosa) and miscalled her dam as Deelovly. Jess really teased me, but I see connections... (My mother miss-calls me all the time... First, I'll be my aunt, both sisters, then me... Must be something hereditary.)

I've also been waiting to hear about Gai Carousel (*Lancers Sahm x Gai Tapestry), who is in a retirement home, and 26... We're all aging. I don't recommend it, but it happens anyway.
