12:19a - Frustration Is...

Frustration is...

-- typing a stream of conscious response that really rolled wide and free, only to lose it to a computer-related malfunction caused by an overly restrictive interface.

--trying to replace it, but only achieving a pedantic recitation of the major points without any of the original's panache.

Subject: Problem with EBay order: Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein

Hi there,

Your order (#deleted for privacy concerns) is ready to go, but the US Postal Service is reporting a problem with your mailing address.

USPS says: Address Not Found.

The address EBay supplied to us was:

Name: (Correct spelling deleted for privacy concerns)
Address1: (Correct address deleted for privacy concerns)
Address2:
City: Promise City
State: IA
Zip5: 52583

To test your address directly on the official USPS website and see any recommendations they might offer, click here. USPS has made some recent changes, and they now tell us that they cannot guarantee timely delivery even to "tried-and-true" addresses unless they pass the test on the USPS website.

Please email us your complete address, correctly formatted for US Mail delivery so that we can ship in a timely manner. We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Your Online Bookstore

My response:

The address you used is correct.

I tried to trouble shoot via the web site, but my problem was not listed. I get media mail from all over the US and Canada regularly without problem at the address you typed in. The last one arrived Saturday, 9/8/2012.

The operator I finally talked to is going to instigate an investigation why my CORRECTLY INPUT address triggered Address Not Found on their website. She said someone would call me either later today or tomorrow.

Please mail my book.

End email copy.

One of the operator's questions was "How long have you lived at this address?" When I told her since August, 1976, she was quite shocked...Obviously, just moved is NOT the problem...)

Ridiculous and upsetting.
