Marshmallow Memories

The alligator story reminds me of a time my young brother was sitting at the dining room table in the Country Club manor house in Rochester. He was eating the big puffy marshmallows, and as usual, Tippy was begging. Ray would toss him one, which he'd gracefully catch in mid-air. Then he grabbed one of Bonnie's cotton balls and tossed it... Tippy caught it, but ... Trust is easily squandered by the young, who little understand its hard won nature.
