Trio of Ferrets

Strange wildlife on the loose... a trio of ferrets. I have NEVER seen ferrets in the wild before, but today, on the way in to work, three black ones did the "I can beat you" dash. The first two were successful, but the third one jumped up and hit my wheel, no matter how hard I tried to stop/dodge. (Yes, I know you're not supposed to dodge...) Depressing.

Edit: When I told the science teacher, he said, "You almost never see ferrets in the wild. They were probably weasels. Weasels would be dark. Most ferrets are lighter colors."

"These were black, very black."

"Did they have white on their bellies?"

"Not that I caught as I dodged around the road trying not to hit them."

A puzzled look crossed his face. "Weasels don't generally go around together."

"Well, two were together in front, and one quite a few feet behind... maybe a daughter eloped with the traveling salesman, and daddy was chasing them?"

Yep, it's FRIDAY... After school FRIDAY...
