Reaching New Heights

Our early morning fm classical station has overtopped itself. The morning DJ, Don Forlsing, is a one of a kind who specializes in the oddball. He's featured a group called Four Bitchin' Babes' rendition of Viagra, in which a run-away semi of viagra misses a corner and crashes into the local water supply that even has the local PRIEST finding things unexpectedly rising... or The Austin Lounge Lizards croaking "When Did We Become White Trash?" and other unbelievably bad lyrics in a horrific country-western style...

Nat King Cole, King Cole Trio, 1940's rendition of Three Blind Mice, complete with rhythm section that you'd have heard behind, oh, say, the Andrew's Sisters or Benny Goodman. In his charming voice, he clearly enunciates the simple lyrics, then swings it. Over he riffs into "A Tisket, a Tasket" rip-off, romps into jive, even including an "Alfred, the Chipmunk" style line saying she'd give their tails back. It was hysterical! He found it on a kid's album.

Well, you know how it goes, "You Can't Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd, But You Can Be Happy If You've a Mind To" (Roger Miller?)

Blessings Continue to Flow

I'd ordered a new battery for my Cannon SRL camera, praying that was all that was wrong. It arrived yesterday, and I put it in with quite a bit of trepidation. I sat in the blue "command chair", extended the zoom lens to its fullest, and snapped -- voilé! A click! Don't know what I need a photo of the light and the plants I'm rooting, but there's 36 on the roll, so I'm sure I'll get around to something else more useful...
